POLLUTION IN VOJVODINA
The largest polluters in the territory of Vojvodina are located in and around the following towns: Crvenka, Vrbas, Kula, Zrenjanin, Kikinda, Pancevo, Novi Sad, Sremska Mitrovica and Ruma.
At the DTD hydro-system there are 125 polluters who discharge annually about 40.000.000m3 wastewater with the most polluted sections of the canal system being: canal Vrbas-Bezdan, downstream of Vrbas and canal Plovni Begej at Zrenjanin.
497 water polluters have been recorded in the territory of Vojvodina:
- industry 326 (food industry 118)
- agriculture 113
- settlements 30
- others 28
Out 497 recorded polluters:
- wastewater is not treated by 321
- wastewater is treated by 71 ( together with municipal wastewater)
only primary treatment 83.
